Early in 2009 I took a quilting class, and then went to a Table Runner Class. I made me a Table Runner and liked the pattern. Then I started making the runners for gifts and it just snowballed on me. I got such satisfaction from making them. I made each one with the person, and their environment in mind, by Christmas time I gave away 11 of the 12 made.
It surely surprised me the good feelings I got out of selecting the materials and colors to meet the different persons environment and then getting the colors to come together to compliment each other. By doing this and giving them away, I gained a sense of accomplishment and joy I have never experienced. This Christmas has been so peaceful. I have made gifts before, but did not getting the same good sense of well being out of it. I really do not know if anyone liked theirs, or enjoy and appreciate the time and what went into each Table Runner, but I gained a sense of peace and happiness from doing them.
By doing the runners, I never intended or expected anything in return, just enjoyed doing them. With each one I gained a new perspective and a new technique. I found that with each one I made a flaw, inspite of trying my best to do my best work possible. It seemed I could not get one perfect even though I tore out and ripped on each one. Every flaw could be fixed, but still can be found if one looks carefully.
What this eventually taught me is that we all have made flaws in our lives. We all have an opportunity to fix those flaws. We all have to back track and most times it is very painful, but we can fix the flaws. Sometimes they are not seen, but sometimes they show a minor blemish. However, they add character to our personality or life and make us who we are, very special and different than any other.
God always gives us an out to the mistakes we make, we have to put forward the effort and stick to making the changes, he helps us all the way. God is always there to be our guide, helper and leader, if we ask and dedicate our life to him. By doing what he asks he adds character and peace to our life.
This has been the best Christmas ever! All because of some work on Table Runners. God is Good and gives us what we need, though we do not recognize it at the time. the gifts are there if we want to look.

"Silent Communications"
Did you ever think about what you say when you do not talk? It is true! We say alot when we do not talk. I look at our little dog, he does not talk but he communicates volumns with us. We understand or try to understand what he wants or is saying to us by a wimper or wein or suttle bark.
Every day we say something to someone. We send messages by what we do or what we do not do. If we try to cheat or not do something the honest way we are telling someone that is watching us how to possibly do somehting the wrong way. Or we may be teaching a young person who we are and how we do things. If a father does not pay his tithes from the first fruits of his income but instead does not pay at all he is telling his kids something. If we take the money and we use it unwisely we are telling something. If we gamble we are telling something. We are sending a loud message to someone, especially our spouse and kids or?.
God says, that he helps those that help themselves, but most people misinterpret this message. This does not say to be selfish. God intended us to help others and he also said we should pay him first and he is a jeolous God. He gives and he takes away. He will give us messages to wake us up to our infractions and cause or allow adversities to pound us until we get the message or not. God is faithful to meet our needs but he expects us to share with others and the more we share the more we receive, that is the message. If we do not share we are giving a message.
God Bless

"THE BIG FLYSWATTER"
I was reading in "The Daily Bread" about God using a big fly swatter to correct us. Sometimes we need a big flyswatter used on us to wake us up. Maybe this sounds familiar.
Have you ever been around someone you love and that person is so set on perfection that they continually keep after you about something? It is brought on by their insecurities and it feels like they are standing there with a big giant fly swatter ready to "Whap"! you every time you do something they consider "Wrong". They swat you until you conform so they can feel in control. If you get whopped too often and you allow it to happen then your self-esteem is torn down and become only a branch of them. There is no you anymore. You must remover yourself from that situation in order to be who you are. Ask God to help you to become you and to give you assistance. Remember when Jesus left he told the disciples that he was sending a helper, that is a helper to you as well. It is the Holy Spirit and we all have this spirit in us and our helper. We have power within us and to heal us, help us change and to make good discisions.
Until you decide to not allow the flyswatter to be whapping you all the time, you will be not allowing the whapper to live with God and to learn forgiveness. You will only be a crutch to them and you are there enabler. Yes, you will have to be strong and do some things that will make you feel upset and you will not want to do but it is best.
Remember God is with you!

"Riches"
Did you know that Jesus in his teachings talked about money more than any other subject? Check it out for yourself. Jesus knew that by human nature we are drug into the thought that money solves everything. The more we have the more we want. When we let money be the center of our life we fall away from Gods message and we in the end lose. Maybe what we had worked so hard to aquire and that we thought was the things we needed or wanted really was not what we wanted after all? What was it all for?
I am speaking from experience, I was doing quiet well from where I came from, but God was behind it and I forget that. I however, lost site of the fact that I had asked God to be with me and help me prosper. Because of my selfishness, along came some unscrupulous folks and God allowed them to take it away from me. I take full responsibility for what happened, for I did not give back to God as I had said I would, and then I even listened to some unethical people. Low and behold, I started to do the right things for awhile then allowed the downward spiral because I thought it was me that did it and I was so smart. Then it was all gone and I was back to square one. Riding high for awhile, but forgetting that it was not all my doing or my intelligence that got me where I was.
Because of the lose of insight and the lose of resources, I had to suffer great humility for many years. This caused me to become humble and to learn that riches are not in the possessions. I had aquired but in my relationship with God I had lost. I never did have many new things, but I did have what I thought was security. Well, nothing is secure except through Jesus.
I find Luke 12:13-15 to be a great reminder "Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses. I have found that I can feel just as good finding a great buy in a high quality thrift consignment store, laundering it and hearing someone say how nice I look, where did you get it? Also, cleaning up and old item and making it look new again or making something else out of it. I do not have to spend a lot of money to get new and running up a bill to scramble to pay for.
"Our Daily Bread" says,"You'll hear a lot of advice about how to become rich. But only Jesus tells it to us straight. It's not about money. It's about the richness of our relationship with Him and the joy of turning our greed into generosity. --Joe Stowell"
Also, "The riches of this world are vain,
They vanish in a day;
But sweet the treasures of God's love--
they never pass away.--Bosch"
There are many dividends working with God!

"Three Basic Medaphors"
Jesus used three basic metaphors to get his point across, he was simple in his metaphors in able to relate to all people. He used salt, light and branches. Think about it if you read the Bible at all or have heard his stories, he told simple stories and most of them related to salt, light or branches. I looked up all three of these words in the Bible Concordance and there was so many I can not put them down. I leave that to you to research.
Salt; effects what ever it touches, as taste and enhances, heals and replenishes or withers things if to much and they die.
Light; shines on everything within its reach, it makes things grow, spread, or to see things.
Branches; extends the life from the vine to the fruit that is produced, it carries water and food to the fruit.
In verses I am familiar with from the Bible, we are the light of the world, the salt of the earth and God is the vine, we are the branches.
God want us to be the salt, the light and the branches for others. He prepares us to lead, to teach and to help others.
Something to think on.
God Bless

"How Do We Grow in the Life (Spirit) of God in Us?"
When we ask Jesus to come into our life, we are inviting the Holy Spirit into our heart. The Spirit is there to guide us, lead us, to be our comforter. We simply do not at first know what to do with this new consultant.
It takes practice just like exercising, we have to work the muscles to keep them in shape. We can put wood into a fireplace, start a fire, but if we do not tend to it and feed it the fire will soon go out and die. Keep the fire burning.
The new spirit needs to be fed and kept alive to help us grow with God. We will be tested, tormented, torn down, but keep that fire burning. Feed the spirit and learn new knowledge to grow on.
How we say? Well the bible was given to us by God. Yes, it was written by humans many years ago. That is true, but they were anointed to write the word that God intended for us to know and think about. Also, think about how many years this book has survived, and so many tried to get rid of it. It is still alive and still has all the information we will ever need to live a good life. Some of it does not make sense to us, but when we are ready, God will reveal what we need to know, and when we need to know it and when we are ready.
Daily, read at least a verse or two, and pray and pray often. You can pray anytime; while driving, taking a bath, while doing dishes or where ever you want. No one can take this away from you.
Keep that fire burning. There are plateau's that we reach at times, when it seems God wants us to rest and then we do not do much but then we are at a place of rest and reflection. We can just go along for awhile and then God will reveal something new for us to do or think about. Never quit reading and praying.
Prayer of thanks, there is a lot to be thankful for.
Prayer of love, for yourself and for others.
Prayer of rejoicing for what God has done for us and others.
Prayer for strength to learn and keep the evil one away.
In order to remain strong in Christ, we must be with God daily.
God Bless

"Humor"
Many Christians think that as a Christian, we should be sober and very controlled and stiff shirts.
Most of my Aunts and Uncles loved to play trick, laugh at silly things and torment each other. Many people think I am too serious, well they do not know my playful side. I laugh at the silliest things, I seem to see humor in things that others do not see. I find funny things in the animals, in little children and in nature. I find humor in just living and I think God intended this to be this way.
I was not there when Jesus lived on earth but I bet that he saw humor in things too. I do not think he was always serious. Jesus loved parties as well, he was very controlled, but he enjoyed his wine and we know that a bit of wine can make anyone silly.
Yes, I think that to see humor in situations is a gift from God!!! I read about dancing and jubilation in the bible many times. I think that God is not opposed to good clean fun and joyfulness.
2 Sam 6:14 is one example, King David danced with all his might before the Lord. In Verse 16 it says, David was "Leaping and Whirling".
Take time to Laugh (Eccl 3:4). Laughter is one of Gods greatest gifts. Laughter is joy from the heart and soul. Laughter is healing for the body. Never give it up even if you look foolish in the eyes of men.
A word of caution, do not laugh at another person, you can laugh with others if it is not about someone else. Keep it to good clean fun.
God Bless

"Affairs of Life"
Joshua 1:8 You shall be able to deal wisely in the affairs of life.
John 13:34 We have one commandment----To Love each other, and the 10 commandments will fall into place.
Training your Human Spirit!
1. By giving the word first place.
2. By meditation in the word daily.
3. By practicing the word, it takes work at first.
4. By instantly obeying the voice of your spirit and the Holy Spirit with in you.

"Land Mines"
I have never been in a land mine, but I have walked in a cow pasture. It may be similar to a land mine. I have seen land mines on TV, and I think it would be very hard to escape the carefully placed and covered flat land mines, cow patties are exposed but you have to dodge them too! That is how it is to be around some people. These people are so uptight that it feels like we are around a land mine. We never know when they will blow for any reason. So we want to escape them.
Are you like a land mine? We have to learn to recognize who we are and what makes us so up tight. Are we full of; fear, constantly competing, angry, insecure, do we always compare our self and things with others? Is our mind divided and constantly distracted? Do we have a lack of peace with our self? Any of these or all of these can lead to serious illness and emotional turmoil which can make us very ill, we are on the edge and constantly stirred up if we have any of these running through our mind.
It is time to get down to business and get right with our maker. Confess the discomfort and the unhappiness, just talk to God about what is happening and find some peace for self and those around us.
We can only do this by asking Jesus to come into our life and he will do it you know, he is always ready to listen. After the confession and the good talk with him, he will send in the big gun to help, the Holy Spirit will be there in our heart to help us and to renew us to a new state and give us peace. How about it? It is very easy, just ask! That is all it is, very simple. Then follow God's laws and obey, everything is going to be just fine and blessings will begin to flow.
Ask He Will Come! Blessings!

"Tender Hearts"
How is your heart? I don't mean how does it tick! I mean how does it relate. It is easy to neglect our heart. We can become callouse, we may have no joy around others, we may not want to serve others and life does'nt seem worth all the work, and life feels hollow. Then neglect has set in. We then have a heart problem.
Jesus quoted the prophet Isaiah, "For the heart of these people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes, they have closed, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them", Matthew 13-15 "The hearts of his people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing and their eyes they have closed."
We can become so busy with life that we lose our heart for God. Not a good thing to do. We need to allow God to heal our heart. We need to allow our ears to hear that still small voice, and allow our eyes to see. Today we need to develop a tender heart for others around us. We are not to be alone and think alone or to work alone. We are meant to work with God to help others, we may need others someday as they may need us today. We always need God in our life on a daily basis whether we know it or not.
God Be With You!

Demanding is Love without God or Perfection in Self and Others
It took me a long time to learn that perfection is demanding what I want and that is not good or important. There is no such thing as perfection. A person can only do their very best that they can do, and that is the perfection for that person.
Mistakes, we all make mistakes, that is how we learn and grow. When we have gotten to a point where we demand more, we begin to lose. We are human beings and were not made to be perfect, for things change and so do people.
If we love another human being and not God, we demand from that person or persons. We then become cruel, vindictive and unbearable and no one wants to be around us. We are demanding, mean, and expecting what is not necessary.
God sent Jesus to earth to teach us how to treat others, and how to live. Jesus was our example and he taught that we should forgive others mistakes and to forget them. Sometimes we make the same mistakes over and over, and ask why we did that same mistake again. Well, God says that if you did not learn the first time or we lean only upon our own understanding and do not lean upon him, he will take us down the same path again and again until we learn the point he was trying to make.
In Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart;and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." If we have been saved by Jesus, he will send the Holy Spirit into our heart, he will guide and direct our paths and use our knowledge and experience to lead us into the right paths we are meant to go. We must acknowledge to him and others that he is the one guiding our path and leading our life. He will not demand from us, he will gently guide us. What does he want? He wants us to praise him and tell others who is behind our life and who is our leader. We must humble ourself and he will be there when we need him and even when we do not think we need him.
God Bless!

"ADVERSITY OR PEACE"
Romans 8:1-6: God does not want us to hurt or constantly grabble for everything we want or need. But, if we are stubborn he may have to allow us to face discomfort and trials as a way to grow our faith. "Adversity is a diamond dust, heaven polishes its jewels with." By, Robert Leighton. We are to see the good and turn the adversity or negatives into positives or good. The old saying turn lemons into lemonade.
God works everything for the good of the believer. We are promised love. It is endless. We are promised he will provide for us. Try not to have your needs taken care of and see what happens. This reminds me of that movie some time ago where this fellow was given a million dollars and had to give it all away, the more he tried the more he got, it grew, he could not out smart the giving.
We are promised to be given a guide, the Holy Spirit, that is if we accepted Jesus Christ. If we believe, the Holy Spirit guides us through our trials and temptations as well as life itself. The Spirit gives us hints, ideas, suggestions, we just need to be listening. Where do we think they come from?
I am right now where I am supposed to be and doing just what I am supposed to do.
Love---look in Romans 5:8
Provide--look in 2 Corinthians 9-8
A Guide---look in Proverbs 16:9
Everything and every answer is in the Bible if we just look and read. We have peace if we give our adversities to the Lord and trust in him.
God be with you!

"OPTIMISM"
Today I was reading in "Our Daily Bread" about Job,the verse from Job 2:10 from the Bible. The verse says,"Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?" This to me means that we should accept the good things we get from God and we should also accept the negative things as good. God turns the negatives into something good, if we are looking for the good.
I can not help but to apply this verse to our own life. It seems that this verse applies to our prayers of wants. We ask, we wait, and wait, and wait for something to happen, it seems it will never happen. If we are patient and never give up, it will happen! I just read that fretting is wicked, we are to allow God to do his job and to wait, believe, have faith and to thank him for his time and service to us. God has a reason for not granting what we want right away. Sometimes he says NO! not now! There is a reason, it usually is that he has something far better for us, we can not see it at the time.
God sometimes has lessons he wants to teach us that will only take place in time. We have to work through the lessons and learn. We are so stubborn and so it takes time. He may want to teach us faith, patience, trust, long suffering, or to accept disappointments. The reason could be to teach us to be grateful for what we have, to be content through either gain or losses. The Lord gives and he takes away; if we do not obey he needs to show us what we did wrong and how to change, either way we need to be grateful and to thank him for what he has in mind for us.
Here is an example: My husband and I have been married twenty months now. We want to sell our cabin, it is too small for everyday living and we would like to move to Vancouver, Washington to a larger home. The cabin is a lovely cabin, it is enjoyable here, the area is beautiful with the mountains, the trees and animals (except they eat my seeds and plants). The temperatures are very comfortable, (other than the winters). However, the cabin is small, and we feel we are too far from town, amenities, the doctors, the kids. We have been trying to sell for over a year, but the market is not on our side. We also know that if God wants us to move, he can make it happen.
We think there are lessons God wants to teach us and things we are to do while waiting. For one thing, he probably wants to teach us to relax, take one day at a time and not to worry. Maybe another reason is, by being in a small place we have to learn to be real organized. We have to learn to get along with each other and to zig and zag for each other. Also to accept change, by being accepting and appreciative for what we do have, which is much more than many others have in this world and in our country at this time.
By staying in a small space we have no where to run and hide. We have to find a space for everything and everything has to have a place. We have to give away or sell what we do not have space for, which is helping others. We have had to learn faith and trust in God and in each other. Patience is waiting! By trusting and faith that the sale and move will happen. We have developed the appreciation for what we have and see that all our needs are taken care of, that we are so very blessed.
We see that we are on God's time and not our time or the world's time. We know in due time, God will make things happen for us and we thank him for considering our wants. We know he is so busy with others with more important needs, and we can wait. The right time will be God's timing, he will bless us with the sale and it will be good for us AND the other person as well.
Than You God for your insight, not our sight. If we always look for the good in everyone and everything that happens, and we turn the negatives into good--------everything is as it is to be----------and that is "Optimism"! May God surly Bless You.

Red, Read, Ready, Redd, by Benni
Isn't it odd how some phrases stay with you through life? One phrase frequently heard in my childhood was from my Mother. When we needed to straighten up our house, she would say, "Red up the house."
As a child I gave no thought to this phrase. I knew what Mom meant. In raising my child I questioned the wording and origination of this phrase. Did Mom mean red like the color red, read like I read a book, or ready like you need to get ready for school?
My curiosity of the phrase still wondered me. I questioned my sister Jan. Together we did research and discovered the word is redd.
The definition is: to clear, to tidy.
The terms redd and redd up came to the American Midlands from the many Scottish immigrants who settled there. Redd is still used in Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the United States it is especially common in Pennsylvania as the phrase, "redd up."
Entering into a personal relationship with the Lord, gave new meaning to RED, READ, READY AND REDD.
Jesus shed His RED blood so everyone's soul could be saved.
God gave us His word, the bible. This book of instructions
all through the ages, people have READ.
When we put our faith in God, trust Him explicitly and give Him complete control of our lives, we stand READY. Ready to leave this world and go to our eternal home in Heaven.
What joy and peace we receive when we let God REDD us up. He clears away the sin and tidies up our lives. Thank You Lord Jesus for the blessings of RED, READ, READY AND REDD.

"Conflicts, Ridicle and Differences"
To a non-Christian, the things a Christian does seems frivolous and foolish. Things Christans do are most times of God and do not follow the status quo of the normal world view.
11 Corinthians 4:5-10
It took me some time but, I have learned not to criticize or ridicule what others do for at least three reasons:
First, it might be something God has urged or told that person to do for his reasons. It might be to accomplish that persons desires or to improve upon their desires. If God tells us something, it usually does not make sense at the time, it usually is strange in the world's eyes. In Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not upon your own understanding," God is saying, allow me.
Second, God might want a person to learn something from the experience, or for someone else to learn from that persons experiences. God sometimes engineers circumstances that does not at the time make sense to us. Other times God allows the decisions a person makes to continue, for a reason. After all he did give us a choice to make the final decision, good or bad.
Thrid, this is a biggy, if I criticize or ridicle someone, I learned that I will be criticized or ridicled equal to my offence. We are encouraged strongly to speak up and defend our faith and share the gospel, but it often draws criticism from non believers. We as believers, are called to be peacemakers, that does not mean to hide from those that oppose our beliefs. Romans 5:3-5
These are my experiences and beliefs. Learn from my mistakes or my good decisions, save yourself some troubles. I have enough to share with all.
God Bless!

Father's and Children
Father's honor your children, for without them you would not be a dad. In Colossians 3:21--"Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged". Barring any physical problems, any young man can produce a child, but not every man will become a father. To become a father means; a man will have to want to raise up that child and take responsibility to teach him, to train him, and will need to be a shining example for that child. The child did not ask to be born or to be brought into this world. However it happened, a man is to be a man and take his responsibility to love and care for that child.
On the other hand, God says in many places of the Bible; Mark, Matthew, and others places, that Children are to Honor there parents and not to say evil about them for there will be consequences. Remember you would not be here without your parents having given birth for you. God allowed that birth to happen for a reason and your job is to honor them even though you do not agree on how they raised you. Perhaps they did you a favor and you still do not know it. There are reasons for every thing that happens and we are to accept what happened and learn lessons from it. If we were in our parents shoes we might have done as they did. Keep in mind, we older folks can tell you that no matter how good a child has it or has had it, they always think it should be different. The child thinks they can/could do better, and we hope they do. Perhaps you can do what you think they should have done with your children.
In any case, there will come a time when you will see that your father did what he could do, and how he had to do it. We can criticise all we want, but it does not change the past. The past is history and it is gone. Ask God to help you to accept the past and forgive your parents for what you think or thought was not right. You will be empowered for it. God will see to it. God Bless!

"Sharpening The Tools"
When I was young we lived on a farm, near my grandparents and later I worked five years on a farm. I remember that the farmer or helper was never idle. I always heard it said that idle hands is the devils workshop. If the weather was bad the farmer could not work outside, so they would work in the barn, stables or in the tool shed. All good farmers had a tool shed in the barn or very near the barn where they hung their tools or kept their tools neat and organized and ready. The farmer would go there and sharpen, oil or repair the tools that needed this done. The farmer was always prepared.
If the farmer did not tend to his tools, they would not be ready when he needed them and many times they would need somehthing in a hurry. The tools had to be in good working order at all times. Most all farmers had a large wet stone which was shaped in a wheel and it would go around by the person sitting on the seat and peddling like a bike. The round wet stone would go around and around and the person would then sharpen the tools.
We too should always be sharpening our tools. In life, we have to be ready for the unforseen obstacles or for Satan to be trying to get us to do something or say something we are not to say. It is what Satan does, we must always be prepared by sharpening our mental tools to be ready for the attack. We can do this by reading good materials, watching good TV programs, or by hanging out with good people and simply thinking good thoughts, we can not be idle.

"Pop, Pop, Pop?"
I started to cook some barley, brown rice and couscous to make a salad. I knew it would take some time to cook, so I got my laptop and sat down to work. I eventually heard a very subtle pop, pop, pop and I related it to water dripping. When it got more persistent, I looked at the faucet, it does not drip I thought, then with the next pop I looked again, it is not dripping. Then it occurred to me, OH! I forget the food cooking and it was already an hour, I checked it and it went almost dry. I caught it in time and now it can cool for my salad.
That is how the Holy Spirit contacts us, we get a very subtle voice, sound or awakening and if we do not listen or get in touch with the our contact we may lose out on the very massage that is being sent to us. The Spirit was given to us when Jesus ascended into heaven when he left he gave a promise, it was gavento us as spoken to the apostles in the upper room before he died. He said, you will be given a helper to guide you, to direct you and to be with you all the time. The key is to ask Jesus into your heart and then he is there for you all the time but you must obey.
Do you have him with you? Do you listen when he speaks or notifies you that you need to do something, say something or to alert you to something? Just ask and you will receive. Then study and practice hearing him.
Bless You

"Grandma and Grandpa"
Last week on TV they were celebrating "Donut Day", and all of a sudden I remembered something from my little girl days. I had not thought this in 40/50 years. I am not sure how old I was but, several times my grandpa "M", took me to town with him to deliver, I think eggs. This would have to have been during the Second World War. Grandpa had the first car in our area, grandma had inherited a few dollars from her family that had passed on. She bought grandpa the car, boy was he proud. I found this a real privilege to be invited to go, for grandpa rarely invited me to go along with him, maybe my brother but not me, he was a bit older and the first grand boy. I was the third granddaughter, the first two lived in Akron, Ohio, we were in the country and lived near to our grandparents. I can not remember many of the details as to why I was along, and/or whether I even got out of the car (a Ford Model A/T) being a girl I really did not know cars and really did not care.
Grandpa did his delivery/shopping, and then we stopped at a Donut Shop. I think I went with him two times and each time he did the same thing. He brought back an Eclair for me each time. Boy was that good, I still today like the Eclair the best of all donuts.
That reminded me of my grandma Jenny too! She hid sugar cookies in a five gallon can in her bedroom. You see during the war and shortly after, sugar was rationed so there was not many sweets for anyone. But I remember on a few occasions grandma would motion for me to follow her into her bedroom, no one was allowed to go in there. She would open the can lid and say take one, only one! OH that was a good cookie even though it had just a tad of sugar in it.

"Flowers are like Friends"
Flowers come in all shapes, sizes, some real colorful, some dull, some loyal and hang around for ever and some just for the moment.
Some flowers are in your life for a season, or a reason, usually to teach you something or to be a temporary helper.
Some flowers are there in the garden just to hide under or around the pretty ones and they are not noticed much but they find shelter there for a time.
Some flowers are beautiful and smell wonderful and they cheer you for the moment but are soon gone.
There are the flowers that come into your life and together you make a beautiful bouquet but separate most are ugly.
There are flowers that come back year after year and light up the landscape with brilliance when clustered together.
There are wildflowers that just lite where ever their seeds land and are helter skelter.
Some flowers smell with such fragrance they drive you insane, like the star jasmine.
Flowers like people have thorns and stickers that hurt you and cause you infections, those you enjoy from a distance and stay away from.
Yes, I think flowers are like friends, I like the constant ones that are loyal and dependable and the ones that can accept you for who you are and appreciate what you can bring to them and they can bring to you.
God has made all kinds we have to be discriminating and chose the right ones for us.
What flowers do you allow in your yard/life?

"The Rotating Sprinkler"
We have a sprinkler that is to rotate. Unfortunately it sticks. It will get started and then rotate until I get back in the house and then sticks again, I get so frustrated.
I can not help thinking that is what many of us do where God is concerned. We ask forgiveness for what we have done or not done, and then we get busy for a few days or weeks working hard for him and then we get stuck, and stop reading, studying, or praying. We get stuck until we get all shook up about something and then we start rotation again, then we make promises to the Lord and start working again but then we get stuck again.
Why can't we get ourselves disciplined so we do not get stuck like that sprinkler? It is not hard to follow what is expected of us if we practice, discipline ourselves and listen to the Holy Spirit.
God Bless

"Our Thought Life"
We have many areas of our life which we do not share with others, at least we think not. But infact we share quit a bit, not all but, we do share our thoughts and feelings. Our thoughts show through in our attitudes, our body actions and what we say. Our feelings are governed by our thought life too! We think that the thoughts and feelings are own, but indeed what shows through are like a reflections of what we are thinking.
God calls us to live a Godly Holy life (1Peter. 1:15-16), he was our example. To become as much like him as we can, which takes time and practice. We are to be reflections of him or the evil one. It does not happen over night. Who we were in our youth and middle years is not who we are in the winter of our years. That is, if we have taken the time to reflect and study ourselves and our thought life.
First, our thoughts control our actions and since that is the case we should prepare our day with positive clean thoughts. Ridding our mind of: selfishness, anger, hate, thoughts that demean ourselves and others, simply put, ugly negative thinking, some call it stinken thinkin.
Every day as we awake we need to prepare our mind and our day (2 Cor.13: 5). Get rid of any unpure thoughts, thoughts just show to others and make life very unpleasant for everyone around us. This will happen if we have accepted Jesus as our savior and then the Holy Spirit will be in our thoughts and will guide us, that is if we choose for that to happen. We have a helper the Holy Spirit, but we have been given the choice to make the decisions oursleves and then pay the consequences of those bad actions (boy have I paid). If we choose wisely time will renew our mind to a clean and pure mind (Rom 12:2), with good thoughts.
Clean thoughts lend to a pure and clean day. My grandmother Jenny most always had good thoughts, so she sang to renew her mind. I think it worked. I can still hear her singing, in the kitchen, in the garden, on the way to church, "The Old Rugged Cross" and many more. She was a good woman.
I wish everyone who reads this a pure heart, pure mind and clean daily thoughts.

God's Glow
It is 6:00 AM. I just woke up. I am looking out my window at the beautiful sunrise. I see clouds of different colors. Beautiful. Some dark and gray, orange, white and some holes where the blue is showing through. The formations keep changing as they move through the atmosphere from the force of the wind. The clouds are fluffy, some with the touches of light on them. The touches are from the sun peering through and touching the dark clouds. The sun is touching the clouds from the East and mostly at the sides or edges. It is a wonderful sight and they keep changing as they move the sun hits them. Right now the sun pushed through and it is shining in my window. It is warming the area. It is so bright and a warm feeling is all around. It is so great to have this strong blinding light coming to me. How special I feel for it just does it all by itself. I do not have to do anything, just accept it.
It makes me think how we have dark clouds in our lives off and on. But, if we allow God's light to shine through, His light touches us and it helps us to look and feel so beautiful. We just have to be in the right position with him. When we are in the right place with our Maker, looking in His direction, we receive that illuminating glow and a new perspective of what is going around us just happens. It is so fabulous!! and exciting. God Bless those that are reading this!
